Mark Cavendish second in Revolution Series omnium
Mark Cavendish's track return ended with a second-place finish behind Great Britain team-mate Ed Clancy in the omnium at the Revolution Series.
Manxman Cavendish, 30, had not competed on the track since the 2008 Olympics, but wants to qualify for Rio 2016.
Third after Saturday's events, he moved up one place following Sunday's time trial, flying lap and points race at Derby Arena.
Briton Laura Trott beat Jolien D'Hoore by three points in the women's omnium.
Trott, 23, who won the Olympic and World Championship titles in the event in 2012, held on to top spot despite coming second behind the Belgian in Sunday's points race.
Laura Trott won four of the six omnium events in Derby
Yorkshireman Clancy, 30, an omnium bronze medallist at London 2012, finished on 228 points, 18 ahead of Cavendish, with fellow Briton Chris Latham third.
Olympic time trial champion Sir Bradley Wiggins, who will team up with Cavendish in Sunday evening's madison, was fined 200 Swiss Francs (£130) by race organisers for failing to attend the presentation after helping GB win gold in the team pursuit on Friday.
The first round of the Revolution Series marks the start of the qualification campaign for the Rio Olympics, offering qualification points for riders to enter the three World Cup events over the next 18 months.
Riders must compete at two Olympic ranking events - World Cups, European Championships and World Championships - to qualify for Rio.
GB can select one athlete for each track discipline in Brazil.
