A man who allegedly filmed himself driving a stolen car at 240 kilometres per hour (kph) while providing commentary in a video posted on YouTube is due to appear in court.

Police said they had been looking for the man seen in the video that captured the incident north of Adelaide after it was posted online in January.

The footage captured the driver accelerating up to 130 kph above the speed limit on Port Wakefield Road at Bolivar while filming the speedometer.

The driver was heard saying: "Okay people, ready for take off ... I love this. This is great fun. Smashing."

The man's exuberance declined when he came across a taxi in the right hand land.

"Out of the way, you f***ing dog taxi. C'mon, out of the way. Too bad you've got a Commodore up your arse. Now my car's going to get an excellent flogging," he said.

A man arrested at a house in Salisbury Heights on Tuesday was charged with four counts of driving at a dangerous speed, misuse of a vehicle and driving while disqualified.

Police also seized a Holden Commodore sedan from the address, which the man allegedly used in a video depicting burn-outs earlier this year.

The man is due to appear at Elizabeth Magistrates Court.
