Eight teenage girls, aged 13 to 15, arrested after alleged attempted robbery of 19yo at Shellharbour

Eight teenage girls aged 13 to 15 have been arrested near Wollongong after the alleged attempted robbery of a 19-year-old girl at a bus stop.
The girl was sitting at the stop on Lake Entrance Road in Shellharbour at about 9:00pm last night when the group approached her, police said.
One of the eight allegedly threatened the 19-year-old with a knife and demanded her phone.
The girl refused to hand it over and called police, who arrived a short time later.
The eight girls were later arrested, with a 14-year-old charged with assault with an attempt to rob armed with an offensive weapon.
The other seven were charged with a range of unrelated offences, including assaulting an officer.
